Memorandum of Understanding between Chungcheongbuk-do Province and AMAREX
Governor Woo-Taik Chung of Province Chungcheongbuk-do, Republic of Korea, and Dr. Kazem Kazempour, President and CEO of AMAREX Clinical Research, Germantown, Maryland, executed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to cooperate in the support and promotion of biopharmaceutical companies of Chungcheongbuk-do province. On a broader scope, the MOU aims to promote Osong Biotechnopolis as the growth center for the Asian biotech industry.
Governor Chung also promised investment incentives, allowable under the relevant laws of the Republic of Korea, for U.S. investors and U.S. partner companies to collaborate with Chungcheongbuk-do-based biopharmaceutical companies. Chungcheongbuk-do is undergoing significant capital investment to expand its existing bioresearch and development centers and to relocate several key government agencies to the province such as the Korean Food and Drug Administration (KFDA).
For Chungcheongbuk-do companies looking to the U.S. market, AMAREX will provide assistance for such activities as application for U.S. patents, FDA submissions, clinical study management, and manufacturing and sales of their products. For U.S. biotech and pharmaceutical companies wanting to establish operations in Asia, AMAREX will offer support with introductions to key officials and contacts within Chungcheongbuk-do province.
